Frequently Asked Questions

Lighting Relay: Light bulb not turning on?

– Lack of power (check the product voltage against the mains voltage), incorrect connection, burnt-out bulb, interrupted installation, short circuit between phase and load caused during installation or even a defect in an existing installation – can damage the product, poor contact in the photoelectric relay socket.

Another possibility, if the photoelectric relay does not turn on at night, is that the sensor is receiving light from another external light source, so that it "detects" that it is still daytime (e.g., streetlights, illuminated signs, spotlights, etc.).

– If the photoelectric relay is off in a bright environment, and you want to turn it on, you need to cover the sensor window well and wait a few minutes (1 to 5 minutes depending on the ambient light) due to the delay.

Low ambient light (the photoelectric relay has on/off levels based on a pole-mounted installation, being under the direct influence of natural light, without interference from shadows from trees, buildings, etc.), the solution is to reposition the photoelectric relay or expose it to more natural light.

– The light from the lamp itself, which the photoelectric relay controls, may be reflecting off the walls or coming directly from the lamp. To solve this, move the photoelectric relay away from the lamp and position it so that the sensor is dark, not receiving light from the lamp itself.

-When the flickering effect occurs in a bright environment, check the installation; this behavior usually occurs when the load and return wires are reversed.

With the delay, the photoelectric relay becomes insensitive to sudden changes in brightness, lightning, and headlights.

The photoelectric relay controls any type of lamp.

Use an Exatron group control switch; there are 64 different models of 20, 30, 50, and 60 Amperes, single or double pole, with and without circuit breaker protection.

To perform the relay test, it is necessary to cover it very well so that it does not suffer interference from any external lighting.

After this procedure, wait a few minutes (1 to 5 minutes depending on the ambient light) before turning on the lamp it is connected to.

– Check if the model is ideal for the environment. For example, installing indoor sensors in outdoor environments may cause the light not to turn off, since these types of sensors are more sensitive and can detect air movement (air pockets, drafts, etc.). A possible solution is to reduce the sensor's sensitivity.

– Check if the power of the load assigned to the sensor is within the limit described in the packaging/website table.

The sensors can control any type of load as long as it is within the specified limits.

– All electronic products must be installed according to the wiring diagram shown on the packaging or in the instruction manual available on the Exatron website.

Perform the installation according to the wiring diagram. Check for any possible defects in an existing installation, such as voltage reaching the product, interrupted installation/connection, or a short circuit between phase and load caused during installation.

or inappropriate power supply voltage. Check if the lamp is working by plugging it in at another location where you know it is working.

The product may not be configured to meet your needs.

Check if the sensor is not programmed to turn on only at night (photocell off). If it is set to photocell off, the sensor will only turn on the load at night, even if it detects the presence of a person.

This family of sensors has its settings available via an app for Android and iOS mobile phones, provided free of charge by Exatron.

The user must access the Google Play or App Store, search for Exatron's name, and download the corresponding app to their mobile phone. Check the instructions on the packaging or on the Exatron website: www.exatron.com.br

There are several techniques for adjusting presence sensors, depending on the sensor model purchased. Examples include adjustments via jumpers, potentiometers, touch buttons, and through Android and iOS apps.

Correct sensor placement is important for the product to function properly. The sensors detect in slices, meaning that a stationary person will not be detected.

The best positioning will be the one that allows the person to cross these "slices" when in motion.

Yes, our sensors offer this feature.

The sensor detects the movement of heat sources such as the movement of a person, an animal, or even the movement of a vehicle.

To reduce the possibility of detecting dogs and cats, you can use the sensitivity adjustment feature on sensors that have this function. Remember that a large dog or cat may be detected because it has a mass and body temperature similar to that of a human.

If the product is not connected to the electrical network according to the electronic diagram, the product may not function correctly. This could be due to a lack of connection of the neutral wire to the network.

The sensors detect moving heat sources using their PIR sensor located internally to the product, next to the front lens. Even without a person present, false alarms can occur due to air displacement, which we call air pockets or drafts. For this reason, there are sensors for indoor use and sensors for outdoor use. Generally, the sensors also have a sensitivity adjustment feature that can be used for specific environments.

Verify that the purchased model is ideal for the environment in which it was installed. For example, installing indoor sensors in outdoor environments may result in the light not turning off, since this type of sensor is more sensitive and can detect air displacement (air pockets, drafts, etc.) and end up making a false detection.

The user can adjust the product's sensitivity as described on the packaging or in the manual available on the Exatron website: www.exatron.com.br

– Upon detecting a person's presence, the sensor activates the light and starts the programmed timer for it to turn off. With each new detection, it resets this timer, meaning it resets the countdown and starts again. This may create the "false" impression that the product does not turn off when, in reality, it is correctly performing its function, which is to detect people.

Check the time programmed into the sensor.

– Using a power level higher than specified may damage the product.

– If the display is red, replace the surge protector (SPD) as it has already absorbed the maximum amount of surges and needs to be replaced.

– It is recommended to use the neutral wire because power distributors usually ground it (it is recommended to verify), but if you have designed a grounding system and want to use it, there is no problem.

– If the red LED (APS) is lit, check the wiring of the switches/pushbuttons. Verify if the LED turns off by removing the wire from the switch terminal (IN). If it turns off, the problem is in the switch wiring and needs to be checked.

– Check if the selector switch LED is lighting up; if not, remove the fuse compartment and replace it if necessary (10 Ampere fuse).

– Check the remote control battery and also whether the product makes any sound when pressing the adjustment keys/touch buttons.

– Check that the remote control is not attached to anything metallic that could interfere with the radio frequency and antenna, or any equipment that generates a lot of “noise”.

Check if the bypass is installed or damaged (it must be installed in parallel with the switch/pushbutton).

-Connect to the power outlet to charge the battery, and if the display does not turn on, it is recommended to "reset" the product using the indicated button.

Rotary Dimmer:

– Check if the load is dimmable.

Touch Dimmer:

-Activate dimming by tapping the touch sensor 3 times; this enables the dimming option.

Connect to the power outlet to charge the battery and, after the time indicated in the product specifications, test its operation again.
